YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy will call on Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan on Thursday and petition him seeking to summon the Assembly immediately for introducing a resolution on the bifurcation issue.

On September 30, Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy had submitted a similar memorandum to the Governor.

Meanwhile, senior YSR Congress leader M.V. Mysura Reddy accused the Congress and the TDP of continuing with their conspiracy to divide the State. He said Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy was trying to douse the flames of 74-day-old Seemandhra agiation, while Congress MPs and Union Ministers had joined TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu in seeking equal justice to both regions on the issue of division.

Mysura Reddy alleged that the continuation of conspiracy by the TDP and Congress was at the instance of Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

YSR Congress chief YS Vijayamma on Wednesday met BJP president Rajnath Singh and sought his party's support for their stand on the issue of a separate Telangana state in the wake of popular protests over the Centre's decision to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh.

During the meeting that lasted about 20 minutes, Vijayamma, who was accompanied by other party leaders, handed over a memorandum to Rajnath Singh on the bifurcation issue.

But asked about any possibility of the two parties joining hands ahead of Lok Sabha elections, she said the time was not right to talk about alliances as AP was burning.

Vijayamma requested the BJP chief to stick to an earlier resolution by LK Advani that AP should be bifurcated either through a state assembly resolution or by the second states reorganisation commission.

YSR Congress leader Jaganmohan Reddy is on a fast against the bifurcation of the state and is urging the Centre against dividing AP.

YSR Congress MP Rajamohan Reddy said, "He (Singh) knows everything about AP. Though they (BJP) are in favour of Telangana, the way things are happening in AP, they, too, are unhappy.

"We came to keep the state of AP united. That is the only programme we have and we are meeting leaders of all political parties," he added.

Responding to speculation over future alliances, Rajamohan also said, "We never discussed any politics".

'Jagan's health a cause of concern'

YSR Congress party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy's indefinite hunger strike for the rollback of Union Cabinet's decision to divide Andhra Pradesh entered fifth day today with his party raising concerns over his health.

Jagan launched his indefinite fast on October 5 at his residence here for unified Andhra Pradesh.

Meanwhile, YSRCP likened the Group of Ministers (GoM), constituted by Centre to go into issues concerning division of Andhra Pradesh, to Simon Commission under British rule, and demanded Centre forthwith terminate further process for bifurcation of the southern state.

"We demand that state government convene a special session of Assembly to pass a resolution to keep the state united," Ramakrishna said. He said YSRP wanted all Seemandhra leaders and also Central ministers and MPs to quit to create a constitutional crisis which would stall the process of dividing Andhra Pradesh.

Doctors, who examined Jagan today, advised him to call off the fast as his sugar level is falling, a senior party leader said. "Our party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's fast has entered the fifth day. His sugar level is falling and doctors have strongly advised him to withdraw the fast," YSRCP senior leader Konatala Ramakrishna told reporters.

Alleging that Centre lacked concern for the sentiments of crores of people who are on strike for the past 70 days, the YSRCP leader maintained the process of division should be stopped only by creating a constitutional crisis as told by Jagan.

Jagan suffers dehydration on Day 4

                                                                             

                     

YSR Congress president Jaganmohan Reddy suffered from dehydration on the fourth day of his indefinite fast on Tuesday, although his vital parameters were within permissible limits.

A team of doctors from the Osmania General Hospital examined him in the evening and advised him to take fluids, while he complained of headache and back pain.

Several people from different parts of the State visited the venue of his hunger strike venue and expressed solidarity.

Meanwhile, YSRC leader Bhumana Karunakar Reddy joined issue with AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh and asserted that at no point time did his party accept the proposal for the State’s bifurcation.

Condemning Mr. Digvijay remarks, Mr. Karunakar Reddy said the party did not support division in the letter given to Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde.

Trying to distort the contents of the letter at this juncture was highly objectionable, he added.

A delegation of YSRC leaders led by honorary president Vijayamma, had met CPI(M) general secretary Prakash Karat and DMK floor leader in Rajya Sabha Kanimozhi in New Delhi, where they sought support for an integrated State.

Jagan stable as fast enters 3rd day

                                                                         

The indefinite fast by YSR Congress president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy entered the third day on Monday even as members of Secretariat, Samaikya Udyogulu JAC Forum, called on him and expressed solidarity.
Talking to reporters after meeting Mr. Jagan at the hunger strike venue, the fourm’s chairman, Muralikrishna, lauded the stand taken by YSRC chief and wanted other parties too to support the cause of a united State. If all parties adopt a similar position, the Centre would be forced to roll back its decision on the lines of the recent withdrawal of an ordinance.
A team of doctors from Osmania General Hospital examined Mr. Jagan on Monday evening and declared that his health condition was stable with blood sugar levels and blood pressure remaining normal. The doctors advised him to take fluids when he complained of back pain.
YSRC spokesperson Ambati Rambabu said the indefinite fast launched by TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu without withdrawing the letter given by him earlier exposed his double standards. Ridiculing Mr. Naidu, he said it seemed that he was in a hurry wanting the Centre to hasten the division process.
He said AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh speaking in terms of package and Mr. Naidu too mentioning about a special package after the announcement of division showed that they were working in tandem.

Naidu, Jagan confusing Seemandhra people: TRS

Telangana Rasthra Samithi (TRS) has criticised the leaderships of both Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and YSR Congress for confusing the people of Seemandhra with their fasting protests.
The two parties were now trying to deceive the people of Seemandhra by taking up such fasts as they had given written consent for the formation of Telangana in the past, TRS leader T. Harish Rao said here on Sunday. He asked both TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu and YSR Congress president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy to at least explain to the people of Seemandhra as to why they were protesting now after supporting Telangana.
Taking a dig at Mr. Naidu the TRS leader said that the TDP president had been consistently inconsistent on the issue of Telangana from the beginning.
Apart from Telangana, his inconsistency was known to all on subsidised rice scheme, agriculture, total prohibition, BJP and Narendra Modi among others.

The TRS leader also cautioned the BJP leadership about Mr. Naidu’s moves to have a tie-up with it again and said the Telangana people would suspect the BJP too if it went ahead with it.
Accusing Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy of patronising the agitation in Seemandhra, Mr. Harish Rao also blamed him for not deploying sufficient security at power installations in the two regions.
He alleged that it was the party ranks of YSR Congress and TDP that were threatening the employees at power installations to stay away from duties.
He sought to know why power generation was not stopped in private installations such as Lanco and warned the government against imposing any power cuts in Telangana.
