Former Minister
Balineni Srinivasa Reddy on Sunday dared the ruling Congress to ensure the
disqualification of the 16 MLA's, who had voted in support of the no-confidence
motion moved by the TDP Party in the State Assembly.
The ruling Congress was not seriously pressing for
acceptance of resignation by Speaker Nadendla Manohar fearing
rout in the by-elections that would follow in that event of disqualification,
he said after inaugurating the YSRC district party office here.
The Ongole MLA expressed confidence that the YSR Congress party
would romp home in the by-election to the Kovur Assembly seat despite several
ministers camping in the constituency.
He exhorted the party cadre to work for strengthening the
party at the grassroots level.
Party district convenor N. Balaji
said the party committees at the mandal level would be constituted by February
28th.
