Kiran making baseless charges against Jagan, says Ambati

YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader Ambati Rambabu has said their party president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy has no need to conspire with any other party to destabilise the government which is already on the brink of collapse due to internal strife. The very existence of the government is doubtful and it is ridiculous to say that attempts are being made by its detractors to pull it down, he said.
‘Common target'
Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy has obviously become the common target of the Congress and the TDP which have a tacit understanding to stifle his imminent rise to stardom. The timing of the no-confidence motion was a part of their secret pact.
Addressing media persons here on Monday, Mr. Rambabu said Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy was making baseless allegations against Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy and he seemed to be reading out the script prepared by TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu, who wasted no opportunity to tarnish the image of Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy and his father Rajasekhara Reddy. Mr. Naidu could not prove the allegations and he started abusing Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy in the name of religion and caste. Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy, Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao and Rajahmundry MP V. Arun Kumar launched a direct attack on the character of Rajasekhara Reddy.
Unfortunately, Mr. Arun Kumar, who was a staunch loyalist of Rajasekhara Reddy, lent his voice to the anti-YSR campaign. It is no surprise that Rajasekhara Reddy was targeted by his sworn enemies such as V. Hanumantha Rao, G.V. Harsha Kumar, and Kiran Kumar Reddy who was never close to the departed leader.

One more chargesheet filed against Jaganmohan Reddy

HYDERABAD: The Central Bureau of Investigation, probing the case of amassing allegedly disproportionate wealth by Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, filed a third chargesheet in the special CBI court today naming him as the prime accused.

The 88-page chargesheet, containing 142 documents and 72 witness accounts, also Jagan's auditor Vijayasai Reddy (A-2) an accused.

IAS officer Venkatarami Reddy, Ramky group chairman Ayodhyarami Reddy, Jagati Publications (publisher of Sakshi Telugu daily) and Ramky Pharma India Limited have been named as the other accused in the case.

CBI said Ramky had invested Rs 10 crore in Jagati Publications as a quid pro quo for the benefits it secured from the then government headed by Jagan's father Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.

The agency had already filed two chargesheets in the disproportionate assets case and has arrested only Vijayasai Reddy so far.

Vijayasai, however, is now out on bail granted by the special CBI court.

Meanwhile, CBI filed a petition in the state High Court today challenging the special court's order granting bail to Jagan's auditor.

The petition will come up for hearing on May 9.

Internal squabbles delay Congress by-poll campaigns

Bogged down by petty politics, Congress is not able to pack a powerful punch to its arch rival YS Jaganmohan Reddy of YSR Congress. Despite their best efforts, the party leaders couldn’t be content in Parakal in Telangana and Polavaram in coastal Andhra Pradesh.
YSR Cong, TDP ahead

However, YSR Congress chief, Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, has already covered 10 constituencies and has been relentlessly continuing his crusade to win this year’s election as it is a matter of life-and-death for him. The TDP chief, N Chandrababu Naidu, too, is spending more time in the field to attend party affairs.

On the other hand, Kiran and Botsa have so far been busy in holding district-wise review meetings and pacifying disgruntled leaders. Both Chandrababu and Jagan, are likely to complete the first round of their campaigns in all the constituencies prior to the release of the election notification.

In the selection of candidates and campaigns, YSR Congress is in the most advantageous position as it has “ready-made” candidates, who have already kick-started their ‘people-contact campaigns’.

Chandrababu too has completed the selection of candidates. But Congress cadres in Parkal of Warangal district seems unhappy and divided over giving ticket to a former TDP member Samma Rao. They allege that the Congress leadership had a match-fixing deal with the YSRCP, and selected Rao, who is considered to be a ‘weak candidate’, only to ensure the victory of YSRCP candidate Konda Surekha.

In Polavaram, key local leader Karatam Rambabu is unhappy and staying away from poll campaigning as Congress president Sonia Gandhi chose Parvati, thus dismissing his recommendation of a stronger candidate like Bojji. To register his protest, he has also sent his resignation as the chairman of the DCCB.

Further, the party is also facing trouble from health minister Dr DL Ravindra Reddy. Reddy is hell-bent on hurting party chances in crucial Kadapa district.

“The final list of candidates released by the party high command last week has only helped to deepen the differences instead of reducing them,” said a senior Congress leader. Political pandits opine that the Congress took its own time in selecting party candidates for the by-polls, thus losing its valuable time.

N Lakshmi Parvati to campaign for YSR Congress in by-elections

Guntur, May 6 (INN): NTR-TDP (LP) President N Lakshmi Parvati on Sunday appealed to the people to vote in favour of YSR Congress party candidates in the ensuing by-elections.
