Bypolls: Cops seize more cash at checkposts

The money is suspected to be used for distribution to voters in the byelections in Telangana region. Elsewhere, the police seized 2.5 kg of gold at the Nellore-Kadapa border in an RTC bus from two persons. The cops are yet to ascertain whether the gold was meant for the purpose of trade or is linked to the byelections. Checkposts have been set up in Nellore and Telangana districts that are going for bypolls on March 18. All DSPs have been asked to take stringent action against the cash flow during elections.
With the byelection date fast approaching, there is an increase in the seizures of cash at checkposts.
