Hyderabad: JAGAN CASE Ambati warns CBI of `consequences

Amidst reports of the likely arrest of Kadapa MP Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy in the illegal assets case, the YSR Congress party on Sunday issued a warning to the CBI that the arrest will raise crores of hands in protest across the state.

He also lashed out at the way some television news channels went on running scrollings since Saturday night that Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy has cancelled his trip to Nellore and the CBI may arrest him at any moment.
“It (the arrest rumour) was started by one channel whose management is known for its anti-Jagan stand and other channels too followed it (the story).

YSR Congress spokesperson Ambati Rambabu said that the CBI will have to face serious consequences in case it attempts to “touch“ Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy .

How can the CBI affect the arrest of Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy when he was not party to the decisions taken by previous governments, Mr Rambabu wondered.

There is no truth to the story. In fact, the MP's children wanted their father to spend some time with them on Sunday and so he cancelled the Nellore visit“ Mr Rambabu clarified.

He said that Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy will campaign for the YSR Congress candidate from Monday onwards in Kovuru Assembly seat.

The YSR Congress Party  leader added that both the Congress and the TD are afraid of Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy's growing influence, and so colluded to spread misinformation against him.
