High drama was witnessed outside the Lotus Pond
residence of YSR Congress Party president Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy in
Jubilee Hills on Sunday morning as hundreds of cadres rushed there amid
rumours of his impending arrest by the CBI.
By
morning, the Lotus Pond residence was teeming with slogan-shouting
cadres forcing Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy to come out and meet them. The YSRCP
cadres dispersed only after they were sure that there was no plan to
arrest their leader. However, party leaders maintain that some mischief
was made by forces inimical to the YSR Congress Party leader.
It is
said that some SMS was in circulation since late Saturday night
expressing fears that Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy would be arrested early on
Monday morning.
At a
press conference, YSR Congress Party spokesperson Ambati Rambabu warned that party
cadres would not tolerate if any attempt was made to arrest him.
He
accused a section of the Congress leaders of conspiring and spreading
canards that Mr. Jaganmohan
Reddy would be arrested shortly.
Meanwhile, party sources said Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy would leave for Kovur by-election campaign on Monday morning.
He is scheduled to tour the constituency for four days in support of the party candidate N. Prasanna Kumar Reddy. in kovur
