YSRCP confident of sweeping the bypolls

Leaders of the YSR Congress Party are confident that the party will win in all the 18 Assembly constituencies that are going to the by-elections on June 12. The Congress and the Telugu Desam will lose their deposits, they say.
Addressing newsmen here on Tuesday, party district official spokesman G. Mutha Reddy said, unable to digest the overwhelming response from the people to the YSRCP in the State, the Congress and the TDP were making efforts to stall the by-elections.
“The CBI is harassing Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy and the State and Central governments are supporting the CBI as the Kadapa MP parted ways with the Congress,” he alleged. District Steering Committee member of the party S. Venkateswar Reddy lashed out at TDP district president Devineni Umamaheswara Rao for terming the YSRCP president as a traitor.
Dig at Lagadapati
Terming Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal as an “unfit leader,” Mr. Reddy said it was Mr. Rajagopal who heaped praise on the former Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, and his family members. “Now, Mr. Rajagopal is criticising Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy due to vested interests,” he alleged. YSRCP East constituency in charge V. Santan Kumar and minority leader Mohammad Khaleel Rehaman were present.
