On the issue of the statu of rail budget that was presented on Wednesday, Pranab Mukherjee clearly said: "The rail budget is now the property of the Parliament."
"Rail Budget is now the property of the House. Each and every member has the right to approve every clause in it," he said in Lok Sabha.
Speculation about the resignation of Trivedi, who was in the Lok Sabha, rocked the lower house with Leader of Opposition Sushma Swaraj and other opposition leaders issuing a notice to suspend question hour to discuss the issue.

The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) said that there was a crisis in the UPA government and the nation can'thave an unstable government.
"Can it be first cleared if Dinesh Trivedi is still the rail minister," asked Sushma Swaraj.
"Dinesh Trivedi could not have presented rail budget without consulting the PM and Sonia Gandhi," said Sharad Yadav
"Foundation of Parliamentary system is being violated. This should not happen. I have never seen members of govt on dharna," Gurdas Dasgupta said.
