APCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana launched a tirade
against YSR Congress Party and its leader Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy accusing
him of causing the unwanted by-elections, at a rally in Yemmiganur in
Kurnool district on Sunday.
The APCC Chief said
nobody wanted the election to 18 constituencies in summer when the
government machinery was expected to provide succour to the drought-hit
farmers and water-starved villages.
“It is unfortunate that leaders are forced to take to streets due to the selfish political games by certain leaders,” he said.
Addressing
a meeting of party core workers after a rally, Mr. Satyanarayana wanted
the party men to take to public the message that their MLA Y.
Channakesa Reddy tried to sell the public mandate for selfish gains.
In a scathing attack on Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy, the APCC chief said impatient persons like him were unfit for democratic politics.
“He
has no moral right to talk of corruption in the Congress when he raised
palatial houses at three places while his peers who were also sons of
former Chief Ministers had no proper houses,” he said.
He
accused Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy of projecting the Congress and Sonia
Gandhi programmes as those of his late father Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.
In
fact, the Congress programmes were fine-tuned after YSR by reducing the
price of rice to Re. 1 per kg, replacing ‘pavala vaddi' with zero
interest rate loans and expanding the Arogyasri programme.
He
called upon party men to expose the YSR Congress and the TDP and their
hallow policies saying only the Congress could render justice to all
sections.
Ministers T.G. Venkatesh and E. Pratap
Reddy also spoke. Mr. Pratap Reddy said mimicking his late father would
not make Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy the Chief Minister of the State.
Mmember of Parliament Kotla Jayasuryaprakasa Reddy organised the rally and the public meeting.
