‘YSRCP leaders planning riots'

The TDP has charged the YSR Congress Party leaders with planning riots if their president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy was arrested by the CBI.
Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, Mylavaram MLA and TDP district president Devineni Umamaheswara Rao said the CBI court had issued summons to Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy to appear before it on May 28.
YSRCP leaders Y.V. Subba Reddy, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy's brother Diwakar Reddy, and Pulivendula Krishna were planning riots.
“The police and intelligence personnel are clueless. They are in deep slumber. An inquiry into the activities of the YSRCP leaders is necessary,” he said.
Referring to the hooch tragedy, Mr. Rao said he had written a letter to the Chief Minister, urging him to order a vigilance and judicial inquiry into the incident in which four people died in the One Town area, a stone's throw distance from Vijayawada (West) MLA's residence.
The Congress leaders were resorting to mudslinging regarding cheap liquor. “Though they are in power, there is no concreted effort to check the sale of cheap liquor,” he said.
Neither the Congress MLAs nor Vijayawada MP responded to the tragic incident. District Minister K. Parthasarathy and Excise and Prohibition Minister Mopidevi Venkata Ramana did not visit the bereaved families. Cheap liquor seemed to be freely available than drinking water in the city, Mr. Rao said.
