People should vote against YSRCP: says Modugula

Narsaraopet MP Modugula Venugopala Reddy said that YSR Congress Party President Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy's links with criminals were getting exposed and that freezing of bank accounts of his companies was found by the courts to be in order.
Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy's name prominently figures in land settlements made by Bhanu Kiran and Pulivendula Krishna gangs. There could be no better evidence of his alleged complicity in criminal acts.
Participating in by-election campaign at Tarakarama Nagar in Prathipadu constituency on Tuesday, Mr. Venugopala Reddy said hundreds of TDP activists were murdered during the Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy regime.
Some Ministers were directly involved in liquor syndicates and other criminal activities. People now have the opportunity to throw out such politicians lest the State should plunge into anarchy and lawlessness.
Ponnur MLA Dhulipalla Narendra Kumar said people were repenting for electing the Congress party to power. They could set things right by voting for the TDP.
TDP candidate for Prathipadu constituency K. Veeraiah, former Ministers Alapati Rajendra Prasad and J.R. Pushpa Raj, party State secretary Mannava Subba Rao and others took part.
Meanwhile, the party's by-election monitoring cell has complained that Bapatla MLA Gade Venkata Reddy violated the Code of Conduct by holding a meeting with officials at his residence on Sunday.
The meeting which should have been held at any government office was apparently aimed at influencing the voters in Kakumanu and Pedanandipadu mandals in the neighbouring Prathipadu constituency. The government officials are being used for campaigning.
This episode needed to be thoroughly inquired and action taken against the MLA and officials who were present in the meeting, monitoring cell convener Sk. Lal Vazir and party district legal cell convener K. Srinivasa Rao requested the Collector through a memorandum submitted on Tuesday
