Kiran, Naidu not respondents in liquor case

A Division Bench of the High Court comprising Chief Justice Madan B.Lokur and Justice P V Sanjay Kumar on Monday made it clear that the notices in the writ petition filed seeking CBI investigation into the liquor scam were confined to the government.
The bench was passing this order clarifying the issue on Monday morning. The bench had ordered notices to respondents on Thursday. Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy was respondent no. 20 and TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu was another respondent. Sections of the media reported that both of them were also arrayed as respondents.
The bench said ‘notice' on Thursday, but it was not clear whether all the respondents are to receive these notices and to respond to the issues raised in the writ petition. It made it clear in Monday that the government alone will be issued notices and the counter affidavit filed by it.
